Before downloading please note: ONLY FOR IPOD TOUCH 1G

For those users, who want to jailbreak iPod 2g firmware, follow these steps.

First off, backup your iPod data usng itunes, which might take a while.

Next download the 2.2 firmware, as you will surely need it.

Go in itunes, hold shift and click re, and choose this firmware file, after extracting the rar files which you've just downloaded.

After its been updated and itunes reads it, itunes will ask you if you want to set it up as a new iPod or as the one with the same setting you had before updating. Here you will be also asked if you want to re the backed up file.

Obviously, you're own your own for this. (Most people will pick their backup file from the drop down menu, so you can have the settings etc. as you had before)

After backing up, you can close iTunes.
Now download QuickPWN 2.2 from:

Run it, connect your iPod through usb, and then after QuickPWN recognizes your iPod, it should then ask you for the firmware file. Choose this same 2.2 firmware file which you have download from the above link.

Follow through the steps it asks you to do, and hopefully you will successfully jailbreak your iPod Touch.

*Don't forget to install cydia and installer as well, trust me they are worth it. You will be able to install any application from the app for free. To do this follow the steps below

If your iPod has been successfully been jail broken, you are now able to install almost every application from the app for free using this method.

Firstly make sure you have the following;

•iPod touch
•Jailbroken 2.x firmware
•Cydia
•Safari download plugin from cydia

Ok now add a new source to cydia and type;

cydia.hackulo.us

Then once refreshed you will see new apps appear.

From the hackulo source, download in this order using cydia, the patch for installation, and Installous.

Once downloaded you can use Installous to browse and download ipa's straight to your iPod and then install them. You can also sync those apps back onto itunes, and iTunes will think its all legit
